Mr. John Hilas requests that the Supreme Lodge suggest to the Enosis Omogenon Society to adjust the operating hours of their office to accommodate Chians abroad who visit Chios during the summer and cannot come to the office during the evening. Supreme President, Dimitrios B. Kontolios reminded the members in attendance that the CSA&C is a separate entity from the Enosis Omogenon, but we will refer our member societies’ request to President Isabelle Bournias to see what can be accomplished. Mr. Michael Parlamis addressed the members with the proposal that the CSA&C support his efforts to promote Christopher Columbus’ ties to the island of Chios. He proposes that an attorney or a public relations expert may be able to inform the public that artifacts, possibly from Chios, brought by Columbus to San Salvador Island are still stored there in the New World Museum, founded by historian Ruth Wolper. After further discussion, Mr. Kontolios responded to the members that this topic would be discussed in a future meeting. Supreme Vice Pres. Mr. Steve Siderias moved to adjourn the meeting, and Mr. Nick Hilas seconded the motion, which was carried at 1:30 PM. Page 3 |
